Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino wagering is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.
The original Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau casino, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel compound that contains numerous comforts aside from the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 slots and 88 table games.
